We reflect on the latest editorial in Here Magazine featuring The Party Wall - an architectural build situated on a hill overlooking Kelburn Viaduct in Wellington.
What could have been ordinary was turned into extraordinary, pushing the limits of architecture and expectations for small home builds in New Zealand.
The Party Wall project encompasses two beautiful, modest-sized townhouses separated by a three-storey, in-situ concrete party wall. The complex and intricate wall works as a dividing partition between the two residences and acts as a sound barrier between the two homes while providing a focal point for the external structure.
The team at Dorset Construction worked alongside Patchwork Architecture and structural engineers Spencer Homes to create a vision that was conceptualised by a need to meet demand and fulfil a desire to create quality.
The Party Wall townhouses offer a private, bushy retreat in the central Wellington suburb, including north-facing verandahs overlooking Kelburn Viaduct. Every detail has been considered through the design and build process to create a home that deserves to sit proudly for unmistakable street appeal.
Dorset Construction completed the apartments with some beautiful carpentry work, and we are proud of what everyone involved in this project has achieved. Read more about The Party Wall project in Here Magazine, issue 13.
